WiFi Tracking

Last updated: July 01, 2026

WiFi Tracking allows monitoring customer presence in your branch via their mobile devices connected to the dedicated ASH-Booking WiFi network.

What is WiFi Tracking

It's a system that automatically records customer entry and exit events from your branch's WiFi network. Collected data helps:

  • Understand peak traffic hours
  • Analyze average time of stay
  • Activate presence-based promotions
  • Improve customer experience

Operator Configuration

Set Up WiFi Network

  1. Go to Branches → [Branch Name] → Settings
  2. Configure:
    • SSID — the dedicated WiFi network name
    • Password — to access the network
  3. Save

Tip: Create a separate WiFi network for customers, don't use the same administrative network.

Inform Customers

Display visibly:

  • WiFi network name
  • Access password
  • QR Code for automatic connection (generated by app)

For Customers

Accept WiFi Consent

When you connect to the branch's WiFi network:

  1. You'll be shown a consent form
  2. Enter:
    • Name
    • Email (to receive communications)
    • Phone (optional)
  3. Accept terms
  4. Get connected to the network
  5. System registers your presence

What Gets Tracked

Once connected, the system records:

  • Entry — when you connect
  • Exit — when you disconnect
  • Duration — total connection time
  • Frequency — how many times you've visited

Note: Data is used for aggregate statistics and doesn't share private information without your explicit consent.

For Administrators

Privacy and GDPR

Explicit Consent

System respects GDPR:

  • Transparency — clear information on what data is collected

Withdraw Consent

For customers, to withdraw WiFi consent:

  1. Contact branch administrator
  2. Or use unsubscribe link in email
  3. Your data will be removed from the system

Limitations

Technical Requirements

  • Must have dedicated customer WiFi network
  • Devices must support WiFi
  • WiFi consent doesn't work in areas without coverage

Accuracy

  • Location is approximate (WiFi precision)
  • Not always detecting quick exits (e.g., customers changing networks)
  • Doesn't track movements outside the branch
