Nearby Activities Search

ASH-Booking integrates Google Places to allow customers to find bookable activities and services near their current location.
How It Works
- Customer opens Near Me section in the app
- App detects GPS location
- System searches nearby activities (Google Places API)
- Shows a list with:
- Activity name
- Distance from current location
- Categories (restaurant, bar, hairdresser, etc.)
- Website and contacts (if available)
- If activity is already on ASH-Booking, it's highlighted
- Customer can book directly
For Customers (Mobile App)
Search Nearby Activities
- Open ASH-Booking app
- Go to Near Me section
- App asks for GPS permission
- Accept to see activities
- Scroll the list of found activities
- Click an activity for details
- If activity is on ASH-Booking, you can book
- Otherwise, only see contacts
Filter by Category
You can filter searches by activity type:
- Food & Drink (restaurant, bar, pizzeria, etc.)
- Wellness (beautician, hairdresser, spa)
- Entertainment (escape room, gym, sports)
Highlighted Activities
If an activity is already registered on ASH-Booking:
- Appears at top of list
- Has a special icon
- Can book directly
- Shows company logo
Point Cost for Searches
Advanced searches may require point usage:
- Basic search — free (first page of results)
- Advanced search — requires points from wallet
Supervisor configures cost for advanced search. Check chapter 14 to understand points.
Data Shown for Activity
For each nearby activity the system shows:

Search Radius
Default radius is 500 meters. You can modify search to increase radius (e.g., 1km, 2km, etc.) in app settings section.
For Administrators
Activities on ASH-Booking
If you've registered your branch:
- Make sure data is complete:
- Exact name as on Google
- Precise address
- Correct category
- Updated hours
- Logo uploaded
- You'll appear in nearby customer searches
Monitor Visibility
From statistics you can see:
- How many times you appeared in searches
- How many customers found you via "Near Me"
- Conversion rate (views → bookings)
Privacy and Location
GPS Data Usage
- GPS location is used only to find nearby activities
- Not stored
- Not shared with third parties
- Anonymous and aggregated for general statistics
Disable Geolocation
If you don't want to use "Near Me" search:
- Open phone settings
- Go to Privacy → Location
- Disable app access
- Search won't work, but other services will
Frequently Asked Questions
Why don't I see nearby activities?
Verify you've given GPS permission to the app or you're in an area with registered activities.
Can I filter only for ASH-Booking activities?
Yes, there's a dedicated filter in search.
How accurate is the distance?
Distance is calculated straight-line from your location. Actual distance may be greater.
Do searches consume data?
Yes, searches require internet connection (4G/WiFi).
